Do you want to make a real impact?

Here you contribute to creating safety for people and communities. What you do matters.

Your Role

As a systems engineer focusing on Early Phases & Operational Analysis, you will be responsible for system architecture and requirements management throughout the development process of advanced missile systems. You will act as the bridge between customer needs and technical implementation, with a particular focus on how software integrates into the overall system environment.

You will work broadly across several technical areas and have many points of contact within the organization. Established processes and method descriptions in our internal databases will support you.

Your main responsibilities:

  • System Architecture: Design and document scalable system solutions and software structures. You will lead the establishment of a lab environment and drive the work with model and algorithm libraries.
  • Requirements Management: Break down complex customer requirements into technical specifications and ensure complete traceability between requirements, design, and verification.
  • Integration and Verification: Ensure that the software works together with hardware and other subsystems throughout the lifecycle.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct system analyses, risk assessments (e.g., FMEA), and technical reviews, ensuring that systems comply with information security requirements and standards.
  • Lab Environment: Ensure that we have the latest version of simulation models, heuristics, and are responsible for the interface between different simulation environments.

Your Profile

To thrive at Saab, you believe in a culture characterized by curiosity, trust, and teamwork. This role suits you if you have a strong technical foundation and several years of experience in systems work in technically complex and safety-critical environments. With an analytical approach, an eye for detail, and genuine technical curiosity, you are motivated by understanding complex solutions at the system level and defining requirements and functionality. You also thrive in a role with many points of contact and close collaboration with both customers and development teams.

A university degree or master's degree, for example in engineering physics, computer engineering, or electrical engineering, forms the basis of your competence. We see that you have experience in Systems Engineering and/or system architecture. You have a deep technical understanding of embedded systems and experience in programming in C/C++, Java, and/or Python. You are accustomed to working with analysis and simulation tools such as MATLAB and have experience in model-based systems development (MBSE) and tools like SysML, Doors, and Enterprise Architect, as well as systems engineering methodology according to, for example, INCOSE. Experience from the armed forces or equivalent is a plus.

Experience in algorithm development and product development in mechanics, electronics, and software is advantageous, as is familiarity with technical documentation in complex development projects. Our teams are diverse, and we believe that different perspectives and experiences contribute to creating even better solutions. Regardless of previous experience and work background, you are warmly welcome to help shape the technology of the future.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.

Please note that we work with ongoing selection, and the position may be filled before the application deadline has passed.
